Always committed to maintaining a reliable work environment, where acting with ethics and transparency is an essential and non-negotiable condition, Norsul presents the new version of its Code of Ethics. This document is a formal statement of the company with definitions of rules of behavior, important to guide the actions of its employees and determine the company’s attitude towards the different audiences with which it interacts.
“The update was an important project in the company’s Internal Controls and Compliance area, as the Code of Ethics is one of the main pillars of the Integrity Program being implemented at Norsul,” says Andrea Abelha, Norsul’s Internal Controls and Compliance Manager.
The guidelines of the document were built valuing people, respect and honesty, resources, social and environmental responsibility, health and safety. Each item described aims to guide the conduct of the company’s employees in the activities performed on a daily basis and also in the relationship with co-workers, as well as service providers, suppliers, public agents and shareholders.
The objective is to make effective the ethical principles that are present in Norsul’s Mission, Vision and Values, avoiding possible conflicts and violations of the Anti-Corruption Law (12.846/13). In addition to the updates to the existing Code of Ethics, new information was included in this new version of the document, such as: Message from the board, basic principles, competitors, accounting and financial records, donations and sponsorships, gifts, entertainment and hospitality, ethics committee, reporting channel, presumption of integrity and prohibition of retaliation.
