Operating since 1963, Companhia de Navegação Norsul (NORSUL) is one of the leading private maritime commerce company in Brazil, having specialized in dry-bulk and neo-bulk cargoes.
The Comapny operates circa 28 vessels (owned and chartered), of which 7 bulk carriers with Brazilian Flag (5 owned), 3 open hatch box shaped holds multi-purpose carrier (2 with Brazilian Flag), and 12 barges, and 6 pushers (all Brazilian Flag). It is the largest privately owned national fleet.
The first private Brazilian shipping company to operate in the pusher/sea-barge system, with no restrictions for ocean going trades, Companhia de Navegação Norsul always seeks to serve its clients with creativity. For such, it brought to Brazil the pioneer project of sea-barges.
